Bienvenidos! Welcome! microAgricultural Projects - Huatusco, Veracruz Region in Mexico

Proyecto Corazon Sagrado de Jesus - Huatusco, Veracruz, Mexico

This group of coffee farmers have begun to experiment with small greenhouse projects involving the cultivation of tomatoes. The greenhouses shown on this link are of two greenhouses funded by their own resources from the 13 members and their families. Currently, we are raising money to build a new greenhouse project with these farmers. For the new project the total amount comes to 3000.00 USD. If you feel an affinity to help on this project specifically, please donate:

The farmers in this area have cultivated coffee among other crops, generation upon generation. However, the current coffee crisis has devalued their crops to the point that it is uneconomical for them to harvest their product and transport it to market. In fact, much of the crop is wasting on the trees. Although this is cause for much suffering, it has spurred the farmers of the region to experiment with other avenues of income such as the current projects in which we are collaborating in Aguaje and Huatusco.
